The Ruskin Heights Homes Association is sharing several opportunities for residents to get involved, protect their homes, and access free legal assistance. Please review the information below and share with neighbors who may benefit.
Join the Ruskin Heights HA Housing Committee
Your voice can help strengthen and preserve our neighborhood. The Housing Committee focuses on improving housing stability, educating residents, and connecting neighbors with helpful resources.
You may be a great fit if you are:
- Concerned about vacant homes in our area
- Interested in connecting residents with resources for minor home repairs
- Willing to help spread awareness of LCRA and other tax abatement programs
- Interested in educating neighbors about beneficiary deeds and long-term planning
- Passionate about preserving homes and keeping Ruskin Heights vibrant

Housing Committee members are expected to attend a minimum of 8 meetings per year.
Office Hours with Legal Aid of Western Missouri
Residents can meet with Legal Aid staff to ask questions and apply for free legal assistance.
When: 1st Wednesday of each month
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: 6285 Paseo Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64110
Legal Aid can assist with:
- Beneficiary deeds
- Title issues
- Contracts
- Referrals
- Property and property tax questions
- Nuisance properties

All applicants must meet Legal Aid eligibility requirements.
Beneficiary Deed Days (Homeowners)
Do you own your home?
Do you want to choose who should own it after your passing?
You may benefit from a Beneficiary Deed. Legal Aid of Western Missouri offers free legal assistance during monthly Beneficiary Deed Days.
When: 3rd Thursday of every month
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Spanish-Language Support Available
Spanish-language versions of Housing Committee information, Legal Aid Office Hours,
